Brett Buske is the co-founder of Common Cyber, a cybersecurity and IT services firm dedicated to helping organizations protect digital assets while navigating complex security challenges. His career encompasses military service, aviation, and cybersecurity, providing him with a multidisciplinary approach to technology, risk management, and business operations.
He began his career in the U.S. Marine Corps as a CH-53E crew chief, serving from 2005 to 2010 and attaining the rank of sergeant. Following his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Maintenance Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, along with commercial pilot and airframe and powerplant mechanic certifications. He later pursued a Master of Business Administration from Clemson University, where he developed a passion for leadership.
Brett accrued nearly a decade of experience in civilian aviation, encompassing roles in commercial, business, and general aviation, including founding and operating a small business focused on aircraft maintenance and airline parts support. His transition to cybersecurity began with software sales to the federal government, where he developed expertise in security solutions for defense and critical infrastructure. This experience ultimately led him to co-found Common Cyber, where he applies his background in aviation, military operations, and business strategy to the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
Beyond his professional work, Brett is committed to supporting student veterans through financial assistance and mentorship, helping them transition successfully from military service to academic endeavors.
